Loved reading this article. I agree that it takes time to digest the new learning and apply it in real life. One of the ways I slow down my information hose is by writing down what I just learned. This act of actually putting pen to paper allows me enough time to think about what I just learned.
Information workers learning constantly without applying what they learn is one problem. However a bigger problem that I see is information workers not keeping up with learning. To me that’s a larger portion of population and a bigger problem.
Yes! 100% this. Ive been taking a lot more notes but in the form of flash cards so I have a way to review them. Jury is still out on this approach but I like the idea of it.
I’ve been thinking about how hard it is to apply leadership lessons. For development or tech knowledge in general I follow apply first but sometimes a leadership lesson learned won’t present itself for a few months.
